About

Built by software engineers and school educators.

Campus Match grew out of technical experience and firsthand observation of how difficult career and education discovery can be for high school students.

Our founder

Campus Match started with a problem James experienced firsthand.

As a computer science professor and software engineer, James has spent more than 20 years building software and working with emerging technology. He also has teenage children of his own, and saw how difficult it can be to help students plan their high school years, explore possible careers, think about college majors, and connect those decisions to what they may want to do after graduation.

What stood out was how often career-planning tools still depended on forms, surveys, dropdowns, and long lists of occupations. Those tools can be useful, but they often assume students already know enough about themselves and the world of work to answer the right questions. Many teenagers aren't there yet. They may not know what careers exist, what they would enjoy, or even what they should be asking.

James saw an opportunity to use conversational AI to make that process more natural. Instead of asking students to begin with the answers, Campus Match starts with a conversation, learns about their interests and preferences over time, introduces possibilities, and helps connect those possibilities to careers, majors, colleges, training, and other pathways.

The goal is simple: help students leave the process with clearer direction while giving school counselors better information to support them.

How we work with schools

Practical, careful, and honest about where we are.

Counselors stay central

We build tools that support school counselors' judgment, not replace it.

Easy to start

A single counselor-led class period is enough to get students exploring.

Measured, not assumed

We're measuring outcomes with our first pilot school and will share results when there's enough data.

Our outcomes approach

Talk with us about your school.

We'd like to hear what career exploration looks like for your students today.
